Maryborough Sugar Factory

We successfully tendered for the  Maryborough Sugar Factory project in 2012 and the project was completed in 2017. Our main objective was to install a fire hydrant system that complied to the current insurance and safety standards. The current site was built in the early 1900s and our challenge was to assess and upgrade the band aid solutions that existed.

I remember looking at the plans we were issued and using my design training at TAFE in apprentice modules, I was able to find better ways of doing the same task. While working for a large commercial plumbing contractor on the Gold Coast I was also attending TAFE studying the Diploma of Construction Hydraulic. With that knowledge base, I wanted to work in a different area of the construction industry."
